Jason M. Cloth is the founder and principal of C2 Motion Picture Group, Creative Wealth Media Lending Inc., Creative Wealth Media Finance Corp., and Creative Wealth Media Advisors Inc. (Creative Wealth Media).
Mr. Cloth launched C2 Motion Picture Group with Dave Caplan in 2022, co-financing and executive producing Paramount Pictures’ Babylon, directed by Damien Chazelle and starring Brad Pitt, Margot Robbie, Olivia Wilde, Tobey Maguire, Max Minghella, Jean Smart and Eric Roberts. The relationship with Paramount Pictures continued in 2023 with Mr. Cloth and C2 Motion Picture Group co-financing Paramount and eOne’s Dungeons & Dragons.
Over the last six months, Mr. Cloth and C2 produced and financed a quartet of independent features including the horror/thriller Longlegs, starring Nicolas Cage and Maika Monroe; the comedy Goodrich, starring Michael Keaton and Mila Kunis; The End We Start From starring Jodie Comer and Benedict Cumberbatch; and Azrael, the high concept action-horror film starring Samara Weaving, which is eyed as a franchise.
Over his prolific career, Mr. Cloth has executive produced over 100 feature films while providing financing in excess of $800 million for a portfolio of critical hits, commercial blockbusters and cult favorites that have included Joker (the highest grossing R rated movie of all time / Warner Bros.), Ghostbusters: Afterlife (Sony), Greyhound (Tom Hanks AppleTV+ hit), House of Gucci (MGM), Paul Thomas Anderson’s Licorice Pizza (MGM), Judas and the Black Messiah (Warner Bros.), Pieces of a Woman (Netflix), Bombshell (Lionsgate), as well as Jennifer Hudson’s Respect (MGM) and Kevin Hart’s The Man From Toronto and Fatherhood (Netflix), to name just a few.
Between 2018 – 2020, Mr. Cloth structured three separate multi‐picture co‐financing deals with Warner Bros., MGM and Sony Pictures. The Warner Bros. Pictures’ films included Joker, The Mule, and The Way Back, as well as New Line Cinema’s Isn’t It Romantic, The Kitchen, Superintelligence, and Angelina Jolie’s Those Who Wish Me Dead. The MGM film slate included The Addams Family, Legally Blonde 3, Candyman, Respect, The Thomas Crown Affair, and Robocop Returns, as well as Orion Pictures’ Child’s Play, Bad Trip, and Gretel and Hansel. The MGM film slate included House of Gucci, Licorice Pizza, Cyrano, Addams Family 2, Surrounded, Thirteen Lives, while the Sony slate featured Man From Toronto, Journal for Jordan, and 65.
Additional film credits for Mr. Cloth include the acclaimed Denzel Washington led films Fences (Paramount) and Roman J. Israel Esq (Sony); the breakout hit A Simple Favor starring Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick; Sony’s The Front Runner starring Hugh Jackman; Red Sea Diving Resort, starring Chris Evans; The Good Nurse starring Jessica Chastain and Eddie Redmayne; The Spy Who Dumped Me starring Mila Kunis and Kate McKinnon; Tully starring Charlize Theron (Focus / Universal); and Birth of a Nation (Fox Searchlight).
On the television side, Mr. Cloth has executive produced several series including Apple TV+’s critically acclaimed The Morning Show, starring Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon; HBO’s multiple Emmy-winning smash hit Euphoria starring Zendaya and Sydney Sweeney; The Defeated (Netflix); KIN (AMC+); Dirty Black Bag (AMC+); as well as digital shows such as Young Bear Grylls, Fables, and Gossamer.
Mr. Cloth holds a degree in Economics from the York University of Toronto and established Creative Wealth Media Trust (CWM Trust) in 2016. CWM Trust is involved with the debt financing of film and media projects in the entertainment and media industry. Creative Wealth Media’s head office is located in Toronto, Canada.
Dave Caplan is an American film and television producer and director. He is the co-chairman and CEO of C2 Motion Picture Group, and is the executive producer of the Golden Globe Winning film BABYLON, starring Brad Pitt and Margot Robbie. He is also co-executive producer of Sony’s film 65 starring Adam Driver, and the director of the feature documentary THE DOC, starring The D.O.C, Eminem, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, and Erykah Badu, which releases in theaters from Vertical Entertainment in Spring of 2023.
Dave also served as CEO and executive producer of Trooper Entertainment, responsible for managing the daily operation as well as the growth of the company as both a full services production company and international business entity. Prior to founding Trooper in 2014, Dave Caplan was Vice President of Development for 51 Minds Entertainment. He holds a bachelors degree from The University of California, Santa Cruz.
Michael Wylie is C2 Motion Picture Group’s Director of Development. He works to shepherd the company’s productions from development or acquisition through production and post to ensure that each project lives up to C2’s standards of quality.
With a background in documentary features and series, Michael brings to C2 his experiences as a producer and supervising producer at Trooper Entertainment, where he story produced The DOC, which premiered last year at Tribeca, and produced an upcoming film in association with Warner Horizon. Prior to these, he worked on a wide range of projects including a podcast, a digital short-form series, numerous pilots, and television shows for ABC, MTV, and Nickelodeon. He has a degree in Film and Data Mining Informatics from the University of Michigan.
